DESCRIPTION:Effective supervision is much more than watching children—it is an intentional practice that combines awareness\, engagement\, environmental design\, and proactive planning to create physically and emotionally safe environments where children can thrive. This interactive training examines the principles of competent direct supervision required under New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and explores practical strategies that reduce risk\, prevent accidents\, support positive behavior\, and promote high-quality youth development. Participants will examine real-life scenarios\, collaborate with peers to solve supervision challenges\, and apply the SAFE Model (See\, Assess\, Formulate/Fix\, Evaluate) to strengthen supervision practices in school-age programs. Presenter: Lesley Lawrence. This session will not count for OCFS training credit.

Explore a variety of STEM careers and identify ways to connect youth interests and existing afterschool activities to career possibilities.\n2.
