Intro to Restorative Practices (Part 2)

This two-part training introduces after-school providers to the foundations of restorative practices and translates those foundations into strategies that work within the unique rhythm of out-of-school time (OST) settings. Restorative practices offer OST staff a relationship-centered framework for building trust quickly, managing conflict without relying on exclusionary discipline, and reinforcing the sense of belonging that positive youth development depends on. These workshops provide both the conceptual grounding and the practical tools needed to begin using these approaches in program spaces immediately. Participants will leave with a shared understanding of restorative principles and a practical starting toolkit they can apply immediately in their programs to strengthen relationships, build community, and support a caring, accountable program climate for youth, families, and staff alike.
